Sak passe! Good food. Fast service. Reasonable prices. Cash only, so be prepared.
Side options are extremely limited, but I respect the realness. I would describe as a divey (cheaper) chef creole. 2 botanicas across the street so you know its real.
First time so I stuck to the classics and had the grio (fried pork). Not overcooked or to dry with a good ratio of meat to skin and fat, and seasoned suprisingly well - mild, not too heavy. Personally I like it with more spice #hotboysummer. Sauce and picklez on the side (not pictured). Sauce (grio broth based) and picklez (fresh pickled spicy cole slaw mix) came in clutch since spice level wasn't as high as I prefer.
11/10 would reccomend. -

Great food! I've been coming here for years. The food is consistently good and always fresh. The only thing I don't like is that they're not always friendly and It's hard to order sometimes if you don't speak creole. I suggest learning some words to communicate what you want.

1 star for Chez Le Bebe. I'll stick with Chef Creole for Haitian food. The customer service is horrible and they don't serve most items on the menu until 12:30. Let me remind you that this business opens at 8AM. Never again and will not recommend.

Chez Le Bebe = authentic Haitian food in the heart of Little Haiti.
First off, let me preface by saying I LOVE Haitian food. I've been jumping around little Haiti looking for a good spot and for a while I was stuck on Chef Creole, however the lines there are so long and the wait time can be up to 30 minutes at times.
If you're looking for a fancy spot with excellent customer service.. ehhhh.. this might not be the spot for you, but if you're looking for really great food at a low price without the wait, step on in!
The sign in the front is barely legible so pay close attention when you're trying to find the place! There are many tables to sit and eat at but you have to order at the register first and then pick up your food. I ordered the Griot with rice and peas and tostones. The food was ready in 5 minutes!
When I got home I was delighted to open the container and find a whole heap of griot! For $10 this was such an excellent deal. The Griot was an excellent mix of fatty and crispy pieces. The rice and peas were cooked perfectly. Not too dry and not too mushy. The flavors were excellent.
I would definitely say the Griot here is better than Chef Creole. They also give a huge amount of food and don't skimp on the pikliz.
Yay for great food!! -
